The Environment Agency

R.K. Bell provided support to Team Van Oord Ltd in carrying out work on an Environment Agency Capital Works Project on NCF 1 in 2006. The project was the Monks Leaze to Stathe bank improvement works on the left bank of the River Parrett on the Somerset levels.

R.K. Bell sourced and supplied over ten thousand tons of a type 7A clay and provided operated plant support to the project. The logistic and transport plan was a significant area of risk for the project but R.K. Bell were able to use their local knowledge to ensure that the project was carried out to the safety and environmental standards set by the Environment Agency.

R.K. Bell played a significant part in the successful completion of this project and as a result I would not hesitate to recommend them for future work of this type.

We have had no hesitation whatsoever in writing this, as we at Wessex Water, hold RK Bell in very high regard.

We have worked on many successful projects, which involved equipment and personnel supplied by RK Bell. Their involvement in the said projects, has undoubtedly contributed to the projects being completed in a safe and environmentally friendly manner, as you can no doubt appreciate, the construction element of the water industry demands a high level of service from all of its suppliers and subcontractors, these factors are to be found in abundance from RK Bell's machinery and staff.

Wells sewage treatment works is nearing completion, on which RK Bell supplied us with excavators and other items of plant. I have found their level of service excellent, and nothing is too much trouble for them. When a problem arose it was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Writing this has been very easy, as we know that RK Bell provide an excellent service which is second to none.

R K Bell have been supplying operated plant to our Norton Fitzwarren Dam site throughout the construction period and in pre-contract site investigation works. During this period we have had a range of excavators from 14 to 25 tonne, Articulated Dump Trucks, traxcavaotors and compaction plant.

It is a company policy that plant operating in sensitive areas and near water courses is supplied with biodegradable oils, is well maintained and has suitably experienced, qualified and certificated plant operators. Due to the nature of the works all operations have been carried out under the direct control of a JCE General Foreman. The R K Bell plant and operators have fitted in seamlessly to the site team.

Plant availability and down time is a major consideration in our plant selection. The plant supplied by R K Bell has been modem, well maintained units which are serviced regularly and we have found to be reliable.

Due to the vagaries of this summers weather we have required considerable flexibility from the plant operators who have been willing to work as directed by our staff.
